Pop punk band Hawk Nelson comes to their fans from Ontario Canada. They started out in 2003 under the label Tooth & Nail Records. The band is made up of the members Jason Kevin Dunn, Jonathan Steingard, Daniel Biro, Aaron Tosti, and Jordan Dean. Former members of the group were Davin Clark and Matt Paige.
The band decided on their name from Jason Dunn who played the video game 2 Xtreme on Playstation, he chose the name Hawk from skater Tony Hawk and the name Nelson from the shoe repair store in their hometown. The band has been on tours with TobyMac, The Afters, and Family Force Five. So many fans have seen them touring and it is a sure fact they will be on tour again.
In 2004, Hawk Nelson released their first album “Letters to the Presidentâ€. The only single released from the album was “Letters to the Presidentâ€. Later in 2005, the band re-released the album, which included six more tracks and three videos. One of the videos includes the band performing “Letters to the President†live.
In 2006, Hawk Nelson released their second album “Smile, Its Not the End of the Worldâ€. Hawk Nelson released “Everything You Ever Wantedâ€, which peaked at number 1 on Christian radio. They have also released the single “Zero†which also has a video and has been released to play on radio.
This band has not only been known as a pop punk band but also as under the genres punk rock, Christian rock, and alternative rock. This band has been nominated for awards and has been known to make a scene wherever they are with their fans. This band is working their way to the top. They already have hit number 1 on the Christian radio stations around the world and there is no stopping them now.
As of September of 2007, Hawk Nelson has been writing music for their new album, which is been said will be released in 2008. They have been working hard on the new album for their fans and there is no doubt that it will do great!
