Jessica Ann Simpson was born July 10, 1980 in Abilene, Texas and has grown to be a famous singer and actress.
Jessica started singing in her church choir and won a talent contest at her school when she was 10. She also auditioned for the new Mickey Mouse Club but failed.
Over the next three years while in school she recorded an album that did not have a shot since the label company folded before it could be released to the public. She dropped out of school when she was a senior and went out to promote her album that was funded by her grandmother. She titled the album Rejoyce after her grandmother.
She would perform with various Christian groups while selling her albums after the show. This is the time when Tommy Mottola received a copy. Tommy Mottola saw the potential and signed her to Columbia records.
Jessica went on to release her first single, "I Wanna Love You Forever", which rose to the top at #3 on Billboard 100. Her album, "Sweet Kisses" also had huge sales. Then she went on tour with the boy band 98 Degrees. This is where she met her future hubby Nick Lachey. They dated for a few years, took a break, and then after the tragedy of September 11 happened, Jessica realized she could not live without him. Meanwhile her record sales were skyrocketing to over 2 million copies sold.
After their marriage, they made a reality show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. Her third album was to be released at the same time. She was very successful before the show, but this reality show has made her a household name even to those who never heard of her before. The show ran four seasons.
In 2005, Jessica was chosen to play daisy Duke in the made for TV remake movie of the "Dukes of Hazard". She then released the video of these "Boots are made for Walkin". Her next movie "Employee of the Month" was released in October 2006, she is doing another called "The Witness", and then in July 2007 she will be releasing "Blonde Ambition."
