say anything

Say Anything is a pop-punk band formed in 2001 in Los Angeles, California by singer/songwriter Max Bemis and made up of fellow student friends from Windward School, Shalhevet High School, and Beverly Hills High School, a factor that caused a rotating cast until achieving the actual lineup.

Say Anything began their career with the self-releasing of two EPs, "Junior Varsity" and the online release "Menora/Majora", predecessors of an album entitled "Baseball" released in 2003 by A.D.D. Records.

These early releases went out of print after a short while and they are no longer available, except for "Menora/Majora" that still circulates through MySpace and iTunes.

Say Anything's second album "...Is a Real Boy" was produced by Tim O'Heir, arranged by Stephen Trask and released on Doghouse Records in August 2004 followed by a set of eight band's songs that circulated on the Internet under the name of "Vs. AIDS Demos"

Although the source that released the set was never revealed, the band said the songs belonged to an unreleased AIDS benefit album, asking fans to stop the distribution of the recordings.

Say Anything began a headlining tour across North America followed by the re-release of "...Is a Real Boy" after the band signed to J Records, a division of BMG Entertainment. Schedule to be released in late 2005, the album was not released until February 2006 and included seven out of eight songs released as "Vs. AIDS Demos"

The company also reissued the single "Alive with the Glory of Love" that was rotated on MTV and radio stations, while Say Anything’s updates are frequently posted on MySpace.

In fact, when the band was confirmed to play at the April's Give It a Name festival and the Milwaukee's Summerfest 2007, MySpace was the first media to announce it, and the band became part of the first MySpace tour alongside Hellogoodbye.

As of today, "In Defense of the Genre" is Say Anything's forthcoming album, scheduled to be released sometime in mid October 2007, featuring guest appearances such as Chris Carrabba, DJ Swamp, Pete Yorn, Adam Lazzara, Gerard Way, and Anna Waronker, among others.
