Shop Boyz is a rap group that came to us out of Atlanta, Georgia. The members Demetrius "Meanie" Hardin, Richard "Fat" Stevens, and Rasheed "Sheed" Hightower are the guys that make up Shop Boyz. This group's music is under many different genres such as Hip Hop, Crunk, Southern Rap, Hardcore Hip Hop, and Rapcore. Therefore, it is hard to say what genre this group really should be classified in, but you know they are great. The only instrument that it noted to be used in the group is a guitar. Otherwise, it is just the three members rapping.
Shop Boyz have released their debut album entitled "Rockstar Mentality" in June of 2007. Their first single "Party like a Rockstar" is blowing up the charts as we speak. This single has peaked all the way up to number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Their full album has made it to number 11 on the Billboard 200 chart. So far, their new album is topping all charts. No word of yet what the next single from the album will be, but you can make sure that it will be another big hit by the Shop Boyz.
The Shop Boyz got their name when the guys met in a hi-fi shop back in 2004. Meanie has an iPod that had stopped working and Sheed worked in the shop. The two guys started talking when Fat overheard them talking and from then on they had formed their group. The called themselves the Shop Boyz since they had all met in the hi-fi shop. A nice way in which to remember how they met and an awesome name for the group.
You can be sure to hear much more music from this rap group with the next few years or more. They have already hit it big with only one single so imagine what they will get with their first album.
