Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll who simply goes by just Shakira is a Columbian singer, song writer, record producer, dancer, and on occasion an actress. This phenomenon of a singer has won herself two Grammy's here in the US, eight Grammy's at the Latin Grammy's and has won an outstanding fifteen Billboard awards. This woman has shown she can do it all. Shakira is known for her Latin flavor in her songs. She has done English and Spanish albums. If anything she does the same album in both English and Spanish. With the wonderful singing, she adds the flavor of belly dancing which makes her videos even more hotter.

In 2001, she wanted to crossover her album to English. The album entitled "Laundry Service" got Shakira well known around the states. Her first single "Whenever, Wherever" was a smash hit right away. She then went on to release her second single "Underneath Your Clothes" which was more of a slower song than her first single. This is also another song that did really well for Shakira. Her third single from the album was "Te Dejo Madrid" (I Leave You Madrid)". The next single from her album was "Objection (Tango)". This was yet another hit for Shakira. This album caused Shakira to be really noticed here in the states, but critics were down on her because of the fact her English wasn't the best, but she has improved.

Shakira did two albums for her Oral Fixation project. There was volume 1 and volume 2, no real name. These albums won Shakira Grammy's everywhere around the world.

Shakira is very well known for her dancing, which is what everyone calls call belly dancing. She has been doing belly dancing for many years. In her videos, she has been known to create her dance moves herself along with another choreographer. Shakira worked with belly dancer Bozenka, who is an award winning belly dancer. Shakira is a big hit now and is still going strong. She is something we will be seeing in the future of music as well. Shakria has been proving she can do it all and is still doing so.
