senses fail

Senses Fail is an emo postcore punk band formed in 2002 in Ridgewood, New Jersey by James Anthony "Buddy" Nielsen after advertising on the Internet that he was recruiting members for the band the year before.

Drummer Dan Trapp read the add and invited fellow musicians Garrett Zablocki and Dave Miller to join at the time that Mike Glita applied on his own.

Senses Fail, or SF as they are also known, has amalgamated a post-hardcore and emo style than distinguish them from other popular bands such as Saves the Day, The Alkaline Trio, Grade, Jawbreaker, and The Promise Ring.

The band's first recording was a six-song EP, "From the Depths of Dreams", released in August of 2002 on Boston's Indie ECA Records and re-released in April 2003 by Drive-Thru Records, adding two extra tracks.

However, Senses Fail's first full-length album, "Let it Enfold You", was not released until September 2004 on Vagrant/Drive-Thru Records. This album was named after a Charles Bukowski poem and eventually re-released with five bonus tracks from which three of them are acoustic versions.

Senses Fail's thriving Internet presence raised their profile quickly. However, changes in the band's lineup started in 2005 with Heath Saraceno replacing guitarist Dave Miller, who was rumored did not left the band voluntarily.

During that same year, Sense Fail contributed a cover of "Institutionalized", a Suicidal Tendencies' song for Tony Hawk's American Wasteland video game soundtrack.

The band's second album, "Still Searching" was produced by Brian McTernan, released on Vagrant Records in 2006 and taking Senses Fall to the main stage act at the summer's Warped Tour for second time (the first was in 2004).

The band also participated in the 2006 International Taste of Chaos tour, several European festivals, and toured the United States with bands such as The Sleeping, Saosin, Alexisonfire, and From Autumn to Ashes.

Senses Fail also has a number of popular non-album tracks from which many of them are digital productions such as "Bastard Son", "Bad Reputation", "Stretch Your Legs to Coffin Length", and "Cinco de Mayo" released on iTunes, MySpace and other popular music web sites.
