Carolina Rain is made up of a trio of Rhean Boyer, Jeremy Baxter, and Marvin Evatt. Evatt and Boyer were security guards at Belmont University when they met. They would sit in their squad car and write songs. In 1999, Boyer met Baxter in a church choir. His only experience at that time was doing karaoke, however the two became friends quickly.
The decided to jam one night and ever since that evening, they knew they had something special going for them. They decided to name their group after a song they wrote. Equity Group believed in them too and signed them up. Their first album "Weather the Storm", was released in 2005. Clint Black is the producer of the album and he knows good music when he hears it.
Carolina Rain was one of the groups playing the benefit concert Operation KMLE Nation Troop Appreciation. It benefits Operation Thunder Box. They send out boxes of hygiene products, baby wipes, sun block, lip balm, beef jerky, and microwave popcorn, etc for the troops. The money they brought in sends hundreds of boxes to our troops overseas.
After six years of paying their dues on music row, they have finally made it to the big leagues. Their music harmony has allowed them to reap the full benefits of being country music stars and they are loving it. They dreamed of playing in front of live crowds of hundreds of people, but now they are playing in front of thousands with the likes of Kenny Chesney, Chris young, Blake Shelton, Billy Currington, and many more.
One thing you can say for Carolina Rain is they have stayed true to themselves and not let any record label tell them differently, even if it meant walking away from a big deal. Boyer said he had asked God to increase his circle of friends. Well, he has done just that, well beyond belief. He now meets new friends in every port. It's such a thrill to get out and meet so many new people every day, he stated;
"We love what we do and we could not live without our fans and we thank God every day for them!"
