Britney Jean Spears was born December 2, 1981 in McComb, Mississippi. She has one brother Bryan and a sister Jamie-Lynn.
Britney loved gymnastics and competed in state-level competitions. She also performed for her church in revues and sang in the choir. When she was eight, she auditioned for the Disney Channel's Mickey Mouse Club. However, she was too young at that time for the series but she did meet a New York Agent. She did a few off Broadway musicals and then returned to tryout for "The new Mickey Mouse Club" and was accepted, along with Justin Timberlake, Joshua Chasez, Christina Aguilera, and Ryan Gosling. When that show ended, she went back to school at the age of 14 and this was the last time her life would have any normalcy.
She decided to go solo and made a demo, which Jive records got their hands on and they signed her. She then did concerts sponsored by Teen magazines before joining "NSync" as their opening act.
In 1998, she released, "Baby Hit Me One More Time," this became an international success for her and went double platinum. She went on to win many awards for this song and in 2000 she recorded, "Opps I Did It Again," which went to number one. She won two more awards for this one.
She was offered a multimillion-dollar contract with Pepsi to do commercials and promotions in 2001. She released,"Britney" and then went on to tour in November 2001.
Britney has been rumored to be dating several different men but she did date Justin Timberlake for four years. The biggest media worthy event was when she married her childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander on January 3, 2004 in Las Vegas. The marriage lasted 52 hours before being annulled. Then July 2004, she started dating Kevin Federline and this has been a bumpy road for the two. They announced their engagement after 3 months. They were married on September 18, 2004.
Ever since, things have been up and down for Britney with rumors flying of a pending divorce. Next, the tabloids caught pics of her driving with her son in her lap, which caused a huge media frenzy? She then gave birth to a second child on September 12, 2006 after this she filed for divorce on November 7, 2006.
