Robert Clark Seger known by his fans as Bob Seger was born on May 5, 1945 in Dearborn, Michigan, technically in Detroit at the nearest hospital, Henry Ford. He along with his family lived in Dearborn until he turned 6 years of age when his family moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan. His father was a musician and bandleader that left the family when Bob was only 10 to move to California seeking fame and fortune that never came.

Bob struggled created various bands until he finally hit gold with The Silver Bullet Band which he formed in 1974, including members Drew Abbott (guitar), Charlie Allen Martin (drums), Rick Mannassa (keyboards), Chris Campbell (bass guitar), and Alto Reed (saxophones, flute), along with himself on lead vocals, guitar and piano.

Prior to the Silver Bullet Band, Seger was with The Decibels, Bob Seger and the Last Heard which gained him his first Detroit hit, “East Side Story” in 1996 which sold 50,000 copies, The Bob Seger System which also produced a Detroit hit, “2+2=?” in 1968 and one more hit which hit #62 on the Billboard pop albums chart, “Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man”.

With the Silver Bullet Band, Bob released the album, “Seven” that only hit #80 nationwide. In 1975, Beautiful Loser with the single “Katmandu” was his first national big break peaking at #43.

Bob Seger’s has released several albums including 'Live' Bullet (1976), Night Moves (1976), Stranger in Town (1978), The Bob Seger Collection (1979 - Australia / NZ only), Against the Wind (1980), Nine Tonight (1981), The Distance (1982), Like a Rock (1986), The Fire Inside (1991), Greatest Hits (1994), It's a Mystery (1995), Greatest Hits 2 (2003), and Face the Promise (2006).

Some of the singles topping the charts include 1976 "Nutbush City Limits, "Night Moves", "Mainstreet", "Rock and Roll Never Forgets", Still the Same" #4 US, "Hollywood Nights, "We've Got Tonight", "Old Time Rock & Roll", "Against the Wind", "Shame on the Moon", and "Shakedown".

Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band have been releasing albums and singles since 1975 all the way to the present with their latest singles in 2006 being “Wait for Me” and “Wreck This Heart”.
