It was only a year ago that Aaron Shust sat at the Dove Awards to enjoy performances by all of his favorite artists. Now a year later he is at the same Dove Awards show to take the stage himself. His hit single, “My Savior, My God” has won him several nominations of his own.

His first release, “Anything worth Saying” sold over 140,000 copies in the last year. One of the top downloads on ITunes was his hit single, “My Savior, My God” with over 85,000 hits. It was also the number one song across many different formats.

His next album, “Whispered and Shouted” will soon be out as he has been working on it between the many media interviews, tours, and meeting all his fans one on one. Since he is still a bit new to the music scene, many people may not know exactly who he is when they hear his song. All they know is that they love the music and want more.

He was a leader at the perimeter Church in Atlanta, Georgia for five years. He states now he is humbled to serve a much larger congregation. He has to learn to get the crowd into his music and not be a leader anymore. Now they sing along with him as he teaches them to worship God in their own way.

Even with his success, he has to stop and be in awe of what God has given him. He still cannot believe what his love and mercy has done for him. He still works with his loyal production team in Atlanta and this gives him more time with his family and God gave him another blessing last year with the birth of their son Daniel.

When he was writing one of the songs on his first album, he had a really bad case of writer’s block. He said he just threw up his hands and asked God to give him the words because he could not think of anything. He said he felt God was saying…well write about it. Therefore, the title of his song became, “Give me Words to Speak”. The words seemed to flow from prayer to paper he said.

He said the first time he was ever noticed by a fan was so surreal for him. He went to get his phone fixed and he thought there was something wrong with his account when the salesperson said, “I thought so”, they then brought out their own phone and played their ring tone for him. It was his hit single, “My Savior, My God”. He felt so overwhelmed and excited.
