This country singer was born in San Antonio, Texas on April 5, 1972. His love of music came through his father being a stage actor. Pat attended Texas Tech and started playing gigs at bars and clubs. He borrowed some money from his parents and made an album but he was not fully committed to it so his stepfather fired him when he saw him counting his money from his gigs. His stepfather knew he needed a push and he gave it to him.
He soon had sold out shows in Texas and sold more than 250,000 albums without a recording contract label! He released "Three days" in 2001 and two more since that time.
For many years, he has played to the college scene. Today, however, he performs with some major country singers. He has been nominated three times for a Grammy. In 2006, he released "Cannonball" which has a duet with Sara Evans. This summer he is touring with the Dave Matthews band.
His great success has helped in another dream and that is helping sick children. Pat has set up a fund for St Jude's Hospital to help many children since he visited them. This is just one of the special causes he helps which are dear to his heart. He also has a guitar he is auctioning off and all proceeds go to St Jude's Children's Hospital.
The 3rd Annual Country in the Caribbean is another fundraiser that is held every year on the beautiful island of Anguilla, just 7 miles off the coast of St Maarten, in the British Isles. Pat and many of the music row songwriter's will be there.
Pat Green knows if it was not for his fans he would be nowhere and they have proven it to him by keeping his video, "Dixie Lullaby", for sixth consecutive week, locking up the top spot and following an amazing 12-week run of his last video, "Feels Just Like It Should."
Pat and his wife Kori have two children, a son Kellison and a daughter Rainey. The family live in Fort Worth, Texas at this time.
