Efraym Elliott Yamin or as he is known by his fans just Elliot Yamin, was born on July 20th, 1978. He was born in California, but resides in Virginia. All of Elliot's fans know him from being the third finalist on the hit TV show American Idol on their 5th season of the show. Now, with hitting it big on the show, he is now showing the world he can really do it even after American Idol.
After American Idol, Elliot went on to do the Pop Tart Tour with the other acts from American Idol during the season performing group songs, songs by himself and also a duet with American Idol favorite Chris Daughtry.
In 2007, Elliot went on to release his first album entitled "Elliot Yamin". He gave his fans a tease of the album when he released a song called "Movin On" onto AOL's First Listen and onto iTunes. This might be considered his first single, but it was never released to radio stations. His first radio hit single "Wait For You" soared up the charts. It went from spot 80 on the charts all the way up to spot 31 in a week. To promote the album, Elliot went on many different talk shows, performed his song, and performed on the latest season of American Idol performing his single "Wait For You". This album has really set Elliot out there on the charts and to his fans. This album showed people what he was made of and that he had the talent to do it all. The album has hit number 3 on the Billboard charts.
Elliot may be doing it all, but he also lives with being 90 percent deaf in his right ear and he has type 1 Diabetes. He knew about the diabetes at the young age of 16, but he never let either problem stop him from performing music. With the support of his loving mother who you may have seen on American Idol when he performed, he is going strong everyday with his music. His love of music and sharing his talents with his talent are sure to help him stay on top.
