Hakeem Seriki was born November 28th, 1979 in Washington D.C. but is known by his fans by Chamillionaire. Chamillionaire is a Grammy award wining rapper and also goes by the nicknames King Koopa, The Mix tape Messiah, Color Changing Lizard, and Chamillinator.
Chamillionaire started his music career by working with his buddy and another well known rapper Paul Wall. He started making his own mix tapes and earning money on his own. He soon signed with Universal Records. His debut album was released in 2005 entitled "The Sound of Revenge". This album produced a few singles, but the best single for Chamillionaire was "Ridin". This song featured two of the members from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. This single also put Chamillionaire on the list as the first artist to sell 4 million ringtones for this song. This album has been certified platinum by selling over a million copies. This really put Chamillionaire on the charts and got him the fan base of a lifetime.
Chamillionaire is releasing his next album in June of 2007 entitled "Ultimate Victory". The artists to be featured on the album include 50 Cent, Kelis, Pimp C, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dog, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Slick Rick, and Busta Rhymes. One song off the album has been leaked onto the internet called "Not a Criminal". This album is sure to be another success for Chamillionaire and will keep him going for many years to come.
Chamillionaire has worked with several artists and even more artists want to either work with him or tour with him. He has been featured on many other artists' songs such as Frankie J's hit song "That Girl", Ciara's single "Get Up" and Trick Daddy's single "Bet that". These are to just name a few singles he has appeared on. There are several more artists that he was joined to produce many singles.
Chamillionaire has won awards for his singles and also for best rap artist, as well. He has pulled several BET awards and he even has a few Grammy awards under his belt. Chamillionaire has just started getting hot on the charts and he has already done so much. He is bound to do even more since he is already considered so "hot."
