sheryl crow

Sheryl Suzanne Crow was born February 11, 1962 in Kennett, Missouri. Her family were all musical and she was in the choir in school. She graduated from the University of Missouri in 1984 and with a music major. After college, she became a music teacher at Crestview in Ellisville, Missouri. At night, she would sing at bars and clubs.

A few years later, she met a local musician and producer Jay Oliver. He helped her and she made many jingles. Her first one was for a St. Louis department store Famous-Barr with McDonalds and Toyota following. She said she made $60,000 on her McDonald's commercial alone.

During this time she made her debut album, "Tuesday night Club' in 1993. In 1996, she made her second album, "Sheryl Crow" her third album she released in 1998 called, "The Globe Sessions". In 1999, Sheryl made her acting debut in "The Minus Man". She also made a live album called, "Sheryl Crow and Friends: Live from Central Park". This contained many of her hit singles and had guest appearances by Sarah McLachlin, Stevie Nicks, the Dixie Chicks, and Eric Clapton.

In 2002, after a break from touring she released "C'mon C'mon". This album had more of a pop style than her other albums. She performed at the television benefit America: A Tribute to Heroes for the victims of 9-11 and at the MTV Music Awards.

In 2003, she released her greatest hits called "The Very Best of Sheryl Crow". In October of the same year, she met Lance Armstrong and they began dating which led to their engagement in September of 2005. She rode with him on many tours and to everyone's surprise, they broke up in February of 2006. It was hard on them with all the rumors about their breakup and they just wanted to be left alone during this difficult time but of course, that is what sells magazines. They still have a deep love for each other and remain friends.

In 2005, she released "Wildflower" which was more of a slow set of songs. To her dismay, it was not that big of a seller. It got a new boost when a single from it was released in 2006, which was "Alliance" with Sting.

Today, she is recovering from the early stages of breast cancer; the doctors said she is expected to make a full recovery.
