This band was formed in Birmingham, Alabama in 2005 and the members include, Wes Willis, Kevin Huguley, Jacob Chesnut, Jamie Sharpe, and JD Frasier. Their love of Christian music was the basis behind the forming of this group.
Starting out they only played together for a very short period when they decided to enter a contest. They were not nervous or anything because they just did it to have fun and never expected anything to come of it. “Band with a Mission†contest chose their band as the overall winner of the contest. They received numerous offers from many different record labels after this. One of the labels was Midas records and they chose them. Then in 2007, they released their first album, “Rush of Foolsâ€.
Being so new to the scene they have already received a record deal, released their first album and now they will be touring in the World on Fire tour with By The Tree and Turning.
They say the meaning behind many of their songs is they talk to a lot of people and they feel what they feel. They know what kids want, and it is the same thing they want. Their first single, “Undo†paints a portrait of God’s mercy and grace and Will’s voice will draw you into the song as he sings.
From an early age, every member of Rush of Fools has always wanted to serve God. They said it seems like they were smacked in the face with all this and they were not expecting it. The members were on the same path and they just thank God they were brought together. This way they can sing out the praise of God and let everyone know how loving and soothing this music can be. At times, many Christian artists will spend many years trying to get noticed and heard. Then there are some groups that God seems to put on fast forward and they become an instant overnight sensation. Rush of Fools is that overnight sensation.
They have just started a founding ministry partnership with GodTube and were named as the fastest growing website in the country. They only launched on August 6 and already have had over 1.7 million visitors in the first month. This site will be showing behind the scenes footage of the band and be more personal photos for the fans.
