Montgomery Gentry is a duo that consists of Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry. They have been together since the 1990's and they used to be in a band with Eddie's brother John Michael Montgomery, who is also a big-time country star. They went through several ideas for a name for themselves and finally came up with Montgomery Gentry and they stuck to it.

They released their first album in 1999 entitled "Tattoos and Scars." They released several singles from the album including "Hillbilly Shoes" which went to number 13 on the country charts. Their second single "Lonely and Gone" went to number 5 on the country charts. Their third single was "Daddy Won't Sell the Farm" which only went to number 17. Their last two singles "Self-Made Man" and "All Night Long" both only went to number 31 on the country charts.

Montgomery Gentry released their second album entitled "Carrying On" in 2001-2002. Their first single "She Couldn't Change Me" did very well by going to number 2 on the charts. Their second single "Cold One Commin On" did not do as well as the first single by only going to number 23 on the country charts.

Their third album was a big hit called "My Town." This was one album, which made them become noticed. The first single from the album was "My Town" which made it to number 5 on the charts. Their second single was "Speed" and that reached number 5 as well. Their third single "Hell Yeah" was a big hit and went to number 4 on the country charts.

Their fourth album did even better "You Do Your Thing". They released four singles from the album including "If You Ever Stop Loving Me", "You Do Your Thing", "Gone" and "Something to Be Proud Of". These were all mainly top 10 hits except "You Do Your Thing" which came in at number 22.

Their next album "Some People Change" was released in 2006. Only two singles were released from the album so far which are "Some People Change" and "Lucky Man."
