baby bash

Baby Bash was born Ronnie Ray Bryant on October 18, 1975 in Vallejo, California, son to a Mexican mother and an Anglo-American father. His grandmother raised Ronnie after their parents became addicts to heroin. He still remembers how his first contact with music came from the hand of his uncles.

Baby Bash's dream was becoming a professional basketball player, but a series of events changed the course of fate and he suddenly was immersed into the underground Latin rap scene joining with fellow rappers Jay Tee and Kid Frost to play with groups such as Latino Velvet and Potna Deuce.

In the late 1990’s, Baby Bash was invited to a guest performance with South Park Mexican in Houston, Texas. He was truly impressed after discovering how local artists were supported so he sold his Californian house and with money obtained he was able to move to Texas and buy two houses in Houston.

Baby Bash met two of the hottest Texan artists of the moment, Kumbia Kings and Frankie J, working eventually by their side but still dreaming of a Basketball career. Later he met Latin producer Happy Perez that put together his debut album, "Savage Dreams", released in 2001 by Dope House Records.

After the single "Suga Suga", Baby Bash was signed to Universal. From 2001 to 2003, "Savage Dreams", "On tha Cool" and "The Ultimate Cartel" were released under the name Baby Beesh.

In an interview, Baby Bash said that he began to be called Baby Beesh when he used to drive a Mitsubishi around his neighborhood, but the fact is that Baby found in music the professional career he was seeking, influenced by Tom Petty, E-40 and Steel Pulse.

In 2003, the album "Tha Smokin' Nephew" was released under the name Baby Bash and peaking at number 48 on the Billboard's chart after the Gold RIAA Certification. In 2004, "Menage a Trois" was not as successful as its predecessor, but in 2005, "Super Saucy" hit the charts at number 11 bringing another Gold RIAA Certification to Baby.

Baby Bash's new album, "Cyclone", is scheduled to be released on October 16, 2007.
