Although, hard rock band Aerosmith was formed on 1972 in Boston, Massachusetts, this band is the result of an evolution that began in the late 1960s when Steve Tyler, Joe Perry, Tom Hamilton, and David Scott met while playing in Sunapee, New Hampshire with the Jam Band.
Eventually, they moved to Boston and the history of Aerosmith began, playing at live shows and small gigs around the city and achieving local success until Columbia Records signed the band in 1972 and released their self-titled album "Aerosmith" in 1973.
Defined as straightforward rock with blues influences, the album produced a single that peaked at number 59 on the charts, "Dream On". This album would sell two million copies. Aerosmith has recorded the following studio albums:

Although Aerosmith, has suffered changes in their lineup, for the last 23 years Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton, and Joey Kramer have played together on albums and live performance, eventually with the addition of substitute members to cover brief absences.
During most of the 2000’s, Aerosmith has mainly appeared in live presentations touring around the world. In fact, in early 2007 they went to a World Tour that included several countries outside North America after ten years without performing abroad, except for Japan.
In February 2007, the band performed live at London's Hard Rock Cafe, promoting their forthcoming European tour. During spring 2007, Aerosmith performed throughout Latin America with sold-out stadium crowds. the summer brought the European Tour and additional performance across Asian Countries.
After returning to the United States, Aerosmith announced the release of a new album that is schedule to be released in spring of 2008.
