Flo-Rida or Flo Rida is the stage name of the African American rapper Tremar Dillard, who was born in Opa-Locka, Florida. Although, he is relatively new in the music scene, his Southern rap style has caught the attention of Poe Boy Entertainment, which signed him in 2007.
Flo Rida began his career in music by singing in the song "Bitch I'm From Dade County" featured on DJ Khaled's album "We the Best". With this song, Flo Rida broke into the mainstream in 2006 and throughout that year, he was continuously required to sing in several mixtapes released by other hip hop musicians, DJ’s, and rappers.
One of those successful associations between Flo Rida and fellow Floridian rappers include Rick Ross (nee Rick Ro$$) and Trick Daddy, who was originally billed as Trick Daddy Dollars, or just T Double D.
Flo Rida's debut single was released in early 2007 with the song entitled "Birthday" produced by The Runners and featuring Rick Ross. Other songs released throughout this year include "Baller", "Birthday Remix", featuring both Brisco and Rick Ross.
Another Flo Rida single, "Bout It Girl", was produced by King Sham and Capp for CKS Productions, featuring Trina, a popular female rapper usually addressed to as Queen of Miami, Diamond Princess, Queen of the South, Miss Trina, Lil' Mama, and Da Baddest Bitch.
As of today, Flo Rida is working on his debut album "Mail On Sunday", which is scheduled to be released in December of 2007. In the mean time "Bitch I'm From Dade County", produced by Diaz Brothers, keeps gaining loyal fans as a featured single that not only counts with Flo Rida vocals, but also Trina, Rick Ross, Trick Daddy, Brisco, Dre, and C-Ride.
In addition, Brisco's single "Man of the Year" that also features Flo Rida has been widely shared as a video song on YouTube.
