Two years ago, five teenagers from Ellenwood, Georgia formed the band known as Crime Mob. Their first number one hit, "Knuck if you Buck" became a huge hit. Their self-titled debut, "Crime Mob" came out August 10, 2004 and topped the charts at number eleven.
They all say it was because of where they came from that helped make their sound what it is. They had their own share of trouble and were known as being rowdy. It was their love of music that kept them together and helped them start their own studio. They came up with their name for the group along time ago and it has always been associated with trouble, but they said they are keeping it and will change it around to the positive.
They are known for performing exciting shows all around Atlanta, Georgia. Their song, "Knuck if You Buck, causes sheer pandemonium. The crowds know what song is going to be played, when the beat drops, the fans start chanting the hook the club, until the club might explode.
Lil Scrappy heard them play and was so impressed he asked them to open for shows for him. This would change the group's life forever. Unknown to them, Scrappy had arranged for BME Executives to be at one of the shows to hear the group play. The audience helped by knowing the song already really impressed the executives and that night signed them to a record deal on the spot. They visited the studio and recorded their self-titled album. The single "Knuck if You Buck" from that album fueled the album sales. It reached number five on the Billboard charts and sold two hundred thousand without much promotion at all.
Now in March 2007, they have come out with their second album titled, "Hated on Mostly" and it has United States sales of 30,000 already and is at #31 on the charts. This album represents the group and shows all the haters that they are still going strong. They said they knew when they made their first album that many people did not like them because they were still in school and young. This still remains the reason most people are not interested in the group. Now, with their new album, Crime Mob believes it proves all those that do not like them wrong.
They one song on the Hated On Mostly is the single called, "Circles". They said this is a haunting song about a dysfunctional relationship and feel this will be a huge hit. There are a few softer songs on this album, but they said to not think they have gone soft. There are plenty of club anthems on it as well.
