The prize for becoming the biggest loser is $250,000. The way in which the competition plays out is that the contestants live in a ranch that has plenty of space and of course exercise equipment. They are placed into two teams each with their own personal trainer. At the end of one week, the team that has lost the least amount of weight must vote off one member of their team. Various competitions are also held to determine which members stay and which ones go home. During the team-based voting process, losing members must carry a covered plate which holds the names of those they wish to vote out.
