CSI Miami was launched from the popular CSI: Crime Scene Investigation television show. Now, it stands on its own popularity and has many fans. Similar to the original series, CSI Miami is a television series about a team of forensic scientists who work with the Miami-Dade Police Department in Florida. It is set in present day and includes cities in the Miami-Dade area including Miami, Miami Beach, Kendall, Coral Gables, and others.
At this time, CSI Miami is the highest rated series with over 20 million viewers tuning in on Monday night. In 2006, Reuters stated, CSI Miami is "the most-watched U.S. series around the world".
The forensic scientist team investigates strange, unusual, and mysterious deaths in order to determine the person that killed the person, the reason behind the murder, and aids in solving all kinds of serious crimes including rape. In most episodes the show focues on one single case instead of two or three cases. Some of the same characters have also been seen in other CSI relatated shows.
The theme song for CSI Miami is "Won't Get Fooled Again†by The Who.
