The Bachelor is an American reality television dating game show, which first aired on March 25, 2002 with a total of 89 episodes as of May 2007.
The host of The Bachelor is Chris Harrison. The plot of the show is one bachelor is chosen and 25 women compete for the prize bachelor. The Audience watch as the bachelor of the season goes on a series of dates with each woman and i some cases group dates. At the end of each episode, one woman is eliminated during what is called the Rose Ceremony. As the dates progress, a few of the women go on overnight dates and meetings with their families. At the end of the season, the bachelor will choose which one of the women left he would like to continue on with a relationship.
The way in which a contestant is eliminated is through their date performance in reference to the way in which they relate to the bachelor during the dating process. In this manner, one bachelor-ette will be eliminated in each episode during the Rose Ceremony in which he presents a rose to each woman he wishes to stay in the competition. However, there is a catch. If any one of the women changes their mind, they can leave the show even if he is still interested in them.
