Kate Nash is one of the youngest British promises in the musical scene, born on July 6, 1987 in Dublin, Ireland. She eventually moved with her family to North Harrow, a London Borough situated in the North West from UK's capital city.

Being a gifted songwriter and singer is not just a coincidence, but also a series of events in Kate's life. During her childhood, Kate Nash learned to play piano and bodhran, an Irish frame drum. At age 16, Kate Nash attended the BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology in South London with an idea in mind: becoming an actress.

Kate Nash's first acting audition was at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, were she was rejected. Then, she suffered an accident breaking her foot and had to stay in bed during her recovery. Unable to move, Kate Nash began to write songs and soon she realized that they flowed on naturally as a backwater of inspiration.

Back into circulation, Kate decided to start a music career playing at a local bar. Her early performances were characterized by numerous top hit cover versions, probably influenced by her own parents. They enjoyed Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Van Morrison, Carol King, Janis Joplin, and other bands of the 1960’s and 70’s that became part of her own music influence, along with Joanna Newsomm, Regina Spektor, and Feist.

After playing in several gigs, Kate Nash decided to approach the Internet by uploading her songs to one of the hottest websites on the World Wide Web. This website brought popularity to Kate along with a manager. Other website users began to support Kate's music, including British star Lily Allen, who helped her gain the attention of International Magazines.

In February 2007, Moshi Moshi Records, an independent London's label, released Kate Nash's first recording, a two-songs 7" vinyl featuring "Caroline's a Victim" and "Birds" tracks, then signing with Polydor's label "Fiction Records", which released her new single "Foundations"

Kate Nash toured extensively throughout the UK, including a performance at the Glastonbury festival prior to her first album, "Made of Bricks", was released in August, topping the British charts with about 60,000 copies sold.
